BB Gun/Air Rifle Classes

The purpose of this course is to teach Scouters how to be come a BB Gun Rangemaster. It is a safety course for adults who are interesting in working with Cub and Webelos Scouts. This four hour course is designed to teach you about air guns, what types of projectiles to use, safety, the fundementals of shooting, and how to set up and safely run a BB gun range for any Cub Scout event for your den, pack, distrct or Circle Ten Council. Any one with the NRA Rifle Instructor rating can also teach this course to certify BSA BB Gun Range Master for their unit and/or district. The training/Range manual for this training can be downloaded from here. The training manual for the BSA Air Rifle Training class can be downloaded from here. These classes are no longer being taught at the council level, it is the responsiblity of the districts to provide this training to ensure that they have enough trained people to hold their Cub Scout shooting events. If you are running a class for a district and would like to open it up for other leaders from other districts to attend please email with the information and we can post it on our calendar for you. You can download the above referenced manuals/presentations to use in teaching a class if you are already an NRA Rifle Instructor. Here is a link to the BSA fillable training card's that can be presented to your students after they pass your class.

This course is required for anyone who plans to run a BB Gun shooting activities at Day Camp.
